Hi thank you for the visit, I'm Celia, I am a holistic doula that provide you with emotional, physical and informational support through your pregnancy, birth and beyond. I live in Epping with my husband and 3 children.

I’ve worked in NHS Maternity services for 9 years. My practical experience span across all areas of maternity, these include labour and birthing unit, prenatal clinic, postpartum unit, maternity day unit, triage and operating theatre. I have a strong understanding of the Maternity system, jargon and processes. My current role in Maternity Voices Partnership for Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow keeps me up to date with maternity news and allow my voice to bring about change and improvement to services. I have also worked in Human Resources Management for the NHS and fully aware of the strain NHS staff and services are under, my aim is to provide continuity of care in a current climate where it is absent. My practical knowledge, has given me the confidence to steer all three of my births in the positive direction I wanted. I would like support you to achieve the same.

As far as the practical experience took me, when I became a mother I was not prepared for the fourth trimester. Looking forward, I now know that postpartum support and preparation is paramount to recovering healthily, it helps with regaining strength, bonding with baby, it helps our overall mental health and development into parenthood. Modern lifestyles have moved away from interdependent family networks and has changed the dynamics of recovery support. I can provide invaluable support and objective suggestions to help steer you through this transition.
